Recently in my new art studio I was searching for a word to reflect my passion, my work and new platform as an artist. I heard the words “world class.” World class, what does that have to do with an artist whose studio resides in the ghetto? Prostitution, drug dealers and drug addicts surround my building. World class is a cultural response to anything that is among the best. Do I have the potential to create in such a way it could cause a renaissance of exquisite masterpieces?
As a speaker in a recent conference for entrepreneurial dreamers, I waited for counsel on what to speak on. I heard “apocalypse.” I responded, “no fricken way am I speaking on the mass destruction at the end of the world?” With the political stuff going on why address the end of the world? Confused and perplexed about the topic I rebuked the devil in Jesus name!
In my frustration instantly I contacted “Dr. Google” to search what apocalypse really meant. I’m telling you straight if it’s the end of the world why even waste my breath motivating Millennials, myself and entrepreneurs; it’s over, the end of the world is over!
Wait just a minute, “apocalypse: a shaking at the end of an age to bring about a new heaven and a new earth.” What happened to the current world view of epic destruction? Did someone lie to this generation? We are living in a space of time where to the natural eye it looks like chaos. There is something deeper that is surging in our culture and most are missing it. We are looking through natural eyes and our spiritual eyes have gone dim.
Transformation from one form of species to another
An ancient prophet said, “darkness now covers the earth and thick darkness the people’s, but (and it’s a big “but”) the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you.” The byproduct of this substance called glory when it rests on a person is that a new form of people emerge who are fully capable to produce exquisite masterpieces in all areas of life. Excellence comes into play. Craftsmanship comes into play. Supernatural skill levels begin to arrive in your life. Human limitations are broken off. Passion becomes a spiritual power drink. Prominence begins to light your path. Notoriety and favor cover you and open doors as you go, doors that can’t be shut. Mundane distractions go away. Passion flows through your being. You get fearless, undaunted, and fully alive in every moment. Every opposition becomes an opportunity.
Masterpieces to create masterpieces
When we entertain the presence of God, we become vulnerable to an invincible power which brings transformation. Take a moment to absorb this powerful message. It tells us who we are!
For we are His workmanship, [His own master work of art], created in Christ Jesus, [reborn from above, spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works which God prepared [for us] beforehand, [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. (Ephesians 2:10 AMP)
People ask me where I got my formal art training. To be quite honest, I quit my college art class after one week of boredom. Every time I face a blank canvas, I have high expectations to paint beyond my natural ability. It requires passion. Passion so great you never stop until the masterpiece comes forth like Michelangelo facing a large marble stone thathe has to chip away until the masterpiece appears.
Stop and take a breath, you are at the brink of powerful positive change. Go through this door and embrace the power, the presence, the glory of God and the transformation that it produces. Every aspect of your life will change. People will see you as different, changed and admired. It’s your day, it’s your time.
