The Making of a Fashion Designer

Welcome Lindee Daniel, a true Holy Fashionista. Lindee reached out and said “feature me”.  We loved her tenacity, her passion and as you can see, her style.

After a delightful conversation and hearing about the mission of the Lindee Daniel brand ” fashioning a better world”, we knew Lindee was not only going to be featured in the magazine, but also would be a voice for passionate philanthropy and fashion in the months to come.

Lindee’s love for fashion, business, and giving back began as a child, despite growing up in small, secluded towns, sheltering her from world culture. Her fascination with fabric, creating and sewing blossomed throughout her childhood, as did her entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to living an eco-conscious life. She credits her mother for giving her elegance, her father for giving her toughness, and both for giving her grit. These are influences undoubtedly seen in her life, and in the aesthetic that runs through her signature designs. In fact, it was her father’s untimely death that propelled her into launching the brand.

Lindee’s belief that business can have a a positive impact on the world is a shining example of the type of entrepreneurs and creators we want to bring to the creatives audience. We believe that as kingdom leaders we exist to be a resource by living our gifts and talents out loud. The more you delve into the beauty and uniqueness of Lindee’s designs you see that is exactly what she is doing. Her dresses have been featured in numerous magazines, on television and as of recent she has arrived in the celebrity market.

Although she is clearly being recognized for her exquisite detail and deservedly so, it is her heart’s cry for the children that has her here in Megamorphosis Magazine’s very first issue. Lindee’s project in Uganda with the organization Bringing Hope To The Family introduced her to Noah’s Arc Orphanage. There her heart was profoundly touched and she is now fueled with the compassion to go further in her entrepreneurial ventures to serve the needs of the children.

Back to her roots. . .where it all began

While reading through some of Lindee’s Instagram posts I felt compelled to share one with you because it describes with such authenticity how her journey into the fashion world began.

“Serious FULL CIRCLE! In 2003 my Dad died unexpectedly. Life is short became profoundly true. It threw me to a crossroads (in addition to an emotional journey.) Before me, I saw two paths: 1. Pursuing that long-time vision of having my own clothing company (scary & risky) 2. Working for the CIA: I started here. Recruitment-check. Round 1, 2, 3, check, check, check. Then, the closed door (I can talk about it now.).

So, onto my clothing company… It was paramount to use organic, sustainable, healthy, toxic-free fabrics…research began…discovered organic cotton coming out of Texas…so I called them. It was such a joy to talk directly with the people/farmers growing this, and advocating for the cause. .

They sold off their fabric division shortly after, and so for the last 6 years, I’ve been buying elsewhere, but supposedly the fiber is coming from this Texas organic cotton cooperative.

Because of a new venture I’m working on, I once again started working directly with them. I was invited out to Texas! We had dinners with the board of directors, visited the organic cotton farms, met with the farmers, the ginners, the compost-ers, and the new fabric manufacturer I’m working with from the Carolinas.

Here I am in person where it all began. Returning to its roots in this ORGANIC COTTON FARM with the DRESS made & named after my dad, “AUBREY” (peace silk, lined in organic cotton-from this cooperative!) Big shout out to the incredibly talented photographer @rachelcveale & the sweet @annaclairebeasley for modeling last minute! // God blows my mind. ”
