It’s the kind of thing you’d find in thriller novels and action movies. Spy games, intrigue, “disappearances,” and sleight of hand. It’s a smoke and mirrors world that hit me square between the eyes. Since I’ve been following the intel drops—the news behind the “news” most people ingest in the mainstream media, I’ve been awakened to more and more corruption in high places. Shocking. Though it feels wrong, we have to remember that this is exactly what we’ve prayed for millennia.
Jesus is coming back, Heaven is coming to earth and hell is ticked off. We didn’t really think it’d be easy, did we? A meek, “kumbaya-fest” kind of revival in churches across the globe? Oh hell, no. Jesus’ robe wasn’t just ceremonially dipped in blood. He paved the way for us to bravely jump into the raw, bloody fight with Him. We’re called to face the unbelievably ugly and heart-wrenching wars with Him and seriously say to hell, “Not on our watch!”
In 1999’s movie phenomena The Matrix, the main character Neo thought something wasn’t quite right with the world and it bothered him enough to find out why. No one else around him could see it, yet somehow he was aware. Risking a fall into oblivion, he courageously sought out Morpheus, the character perceived to be the most dangerous man alive, to find answers. During their meeting, Morpheus presented him with a choice in the most iconic scene of the film. He held out two pills, the red and the blue. Neo could choose the red pill which represented truth or the blue pill which represented the desire to remain asleep and continue existing the way he’d been conditioned to. Only pausing for a moment, he chose to know the truth. He chose the red pill.
Two months ago, I was like Neo. Recognizing something was off, I complained and shadowboxed with the rest of America. By a seemingly coincidental, but actually orchestrated, series of events, I chose the red pill. With a new sense of urgency, I’m here to invite and encourage as many Kingdom warriors brave enough to stand with me to “red- pill” and wake up as God’s army, as His mighty Church.
What made my hair stand up and my heart freeze was putting two and two together after a unique spiritual experience. (I’m not woo-woo, or into overly spiritualizing things, so this is weird for me, too.) During a session of focused meditation, in my spirit I went up into Heaven and took a look around. I got invited into the Archangel Michael’s castle and went into his war room. There, I saw a huge table with a map of the globe revealing enemy and angelic positions. With technology we don’t yet have in the natural, he could see enemy activity and what was going on with angelic forces. There were individualized stations with computer screens around his war table. Here we could monitor the enemy’s schemes and actions in our lives and spheres of influence. Michael and his angel army have the resources to drop intel to us. By “redpillng,” I’ve learned that God wants us to know what the enemy’s up to in the spirit realm so that we’ll know how to ask God to deploy His angels and do warfare His way. The way He drops intel to you may be different, but it’s no less real. He speaks to us in many ways; we just have to be open to receiving it.
In the natural, we also have to be ready to receive intel. Often disturbing intel. Intel that’ll rock our world and question everything we thought we knew. I’ve found out some things I really wish weren’t true, and would’ve been perfectly happy not knowing. But now that I know, I am compelled to redpill others and fight back. We can fight effectively on both fronts only when we know the truth about how the enemy operates and what his next move will be.
I don’t believe you’re reading this by accident. God has a plan, and you’re part of it. Just stay focused on him and your mission—keep your eyes and your mind open. Satan knows his time is short. He’ll stop at nothing to cause chaos, destruction, destitution, demoralization and death. Our Christian values tell us to be loving, kind, patient and grace-giving. And we very well should be. We’ve just been played, lied to, marginalized, persecuted, and kept quiet, tame and compliant for far too long. What’s really going on is an affront to our sensibilities, completely off our radar—deplorable atrocities we can barely comprehend.
Christian values are an existential threat to the enemy and the power structure of the people he’s controlling. He controls anyone who keeps divisive narratives alive. He controls anyone who champions anti-Biblical ideas. He controls anyone who’s fighting against purging evil and corruption. So as the Church, we need to think—we need to wake up to his vices. If it’s controversial, Satan’s all over it. Getting us to squabble with each other is his second favorite strategy. His first is depositing lies in our own minds. His plans for us are destruction, but God’s plans for us are good, so good.
Corruption is rampant in every area, and it’s not some- thing that doesn’t affect you. It’s not someone else’s problem. Satan keeps us preoccupied with our own personal drama, with our busy-ness, putting out the fires in our own lives and fighting each other on nuisance issues. He does a good job at keeping us distracted and off our personal mission. I’m here to sound the alarm and help keep us on track. Stay the course. Stay on mission.
War isn’t coming. War is here, and it’s going to get worse, much, much worse. But we win. Not without casualties, but we win. We need to stick together, keep fight- ing and keep our joy. God’s doing a new thing. It doesn’t look like anything we’ve ever seen or experienced before, so we may not notice it. We may shy away from it at first, or even rail against it. Just because it shocks us or throws us on tilt, it doesn’t mean it’s not God’s hand. Where the enemy’s horrific acts of perversion and violence rock our sensibility, God can also rock our socks off with beauty, unimaginable peace, hope and overflow- ing joy. We need to steel ourselves for battle and check in with Jesus often.
To stay alert, here’s what we have to do:
+ Research for yourself.
Collecting our own intel by forming our own opinions around what God wants us to see is important. We can’t trust everything we see in the media or on the news, we’ve got to trust Jesus, our Commander and become more familiar with His voice over anything else in our lives. As we rise up in learning His ways, we’ll be less susceptible to letting the enemy squelch our voices, censor our content or disrupt our ability and privilege to unite.
+ Pray for all those in the enemy’s sights.
Our government leaders are obvious targets, as is anyone standing up against perversion of family values, taking away our individual rights or moving toward a “one world” economy. There are true Kingdom people in all seven mountains of culture who need spiritual and physical protection and guidance. It’s our honor to get to pray boldly for them and take action.
+ Do you, and do you well.
Our greatest impact is in the area of our strongest anoint- ing and in our unique gifting and calling. We’ve got to know our lane, know our identity, know our God-crafted design, assignment and sphere of influence. (Go through the Dokimos Project as many times as it takes.) Every area of our culture is under attack and needs our Kingdom influence: Government, Business, Media, Education, Arts & Entertainment, Family and Religion. When we know who we are, how we’re designed and how to operate in the spirit realm, we’re able to fight well on both fronts. We can’t let our message or our spirit be crushed for good.
+ Support those who are fighting evil.
Even if we don’t like them or agree with everything they say. If they’re exposing corruption (even imperfectly, in our view) and if they’re supporting true Christian values, we can’t bare to fight against them. There’s no time to and if we do, the enemy’s actually using us in his favor. Our support and prayers are our greatest weapons of warfare, and we should really start using them.
Together we can do real damage to the kingdom of darkness, in the spiritual and in the natural. Satan is terrified of our unity, and terrified of the magnificent power we wield when we know how to use it.
