From the mysterious flaw You call me out of hiding and denial
Reveal my pride’s impossible expectations
The anxious impeachment of self
The desire to be above and beyond
All the things at home in my soul
Purposely out of reach
Concealed and shrouded in contempt
You call out the secrets not fully present to others
All those appearances closeted and disguised
The very presences that make me real
The very intimate impulse and desire
To be known and loved by You
For I am gloriously imperfect
When I live from these deeper places
And this restoration is not a “fixing” but an embrace
For I am earthbound needing care
