My name is Daniela Schnellenpfeil and I was born and raised in Germany, North Rhine Westphalia, where I still live today. It’s a great honor for me that my fan art is still making a request because the time I was creating all these portraits (2020/2021) was the best and most creative time of my life. If I remember it correctly, there are over 25 charcoal portraits of characters from “The Chosen” series drawn by me. Not only do I associate wonderful memories with every single drawing, I have also met new, genuine and passionate people from the cast and also from the fan base.
I have always loved to draw for as long as I can remember, however most of my drawings have been of animal portraits by using chalk pastels. At that time I never used charcoal. For me personally, the remarkable thing was that I had never created a portrait of that quality before. I wouldn’t have even dared to dream of that. The complete opposite was the case! Due to health reasons and great self-doubt, I was plagued by a drawing blockade for years, during which I could not draw anything. I had already given up hope of ever starting again, until the day I unexpectedly stumbled across that very special series, “The Chosen” and everything changed.
I was Christian and a believer for many years before all this happened, but today I look at all these portraits with a smile and I thank God for this gift of talent. Today I have the deep confidence that everything happens at the right time.
