I believe The Chosen TV Series, the first ever TV series on the life of Christ, has been the catalyst at inspiring better films in quality, script and in making Jesus known. The Chosen provided a new lens to look through for people who had left the church to return and for people who knew nothing of Christianity to get a glimpse of a group of faithful people that were real, sinful, broken—but then changed by a Messiah.
We have covered The Chosen since the beginning of the first season. Heather Murdock, one of our writers and collaborators, facilitated the interview with Dallas Jenkins. Now 3 years later we are still huge fans of what God is doing. He has turned The Chosen into a world-wide phenomenon. No surprise to us—we believed the Holy Spirit directed us then and directs us now to humble filmmakers who are doing all they can to make Jesus famous again. The world is being drawn to Bible stories and testimonies of lives changed.
We’re excited that it is a time in history where kingdom creatives, and storytellers, in one form or another, are being highlighted and used by God to push back the darkness in the media world by bringing in the Light. Let the new renaissance begin! We declare it because He said it.
